What is the need for ESL Teaching Jobs?
If you are thinking that the majority of the people in the world are speaking only English, then you are absolutely wrong.
Mandarin Chinese is the primary language spoken by many people all over the world. Quite understandable, because China is ranked as the #1 in the most populated countries in the world. Spanish is the second primary language of the world and English gets only the third place. (Source: Wikipedia)
Regardless of the ranking of English, you need to have a good command over that language especially if you are studying or working in the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand or other countries in Europe.
For the past few years, learning the English language is becoming popular in countries like China, Japan, and Korea.
Do you know why? Even though these people are multitalented and possess great skills, they are not fluent to speak in English. That’s why these days the parents in these countries are deeply interested to teach English to their kids. Because of that, many online-based services are listing ESL Teaching Jobs on their job portals regularly.
How to become an ESL teacher?
As the majority of the ESL (English as a Second Language) websites hire only native English speakers, you cannot become an ESL teacher if your native language is not English. Besides that, you don’t need any kind of extra qualifications as only very few websites expect you to hold a certification in ESL or a degree similar to that field.
But, you need to have a good computer with the high-speed internet because you will be tutoring the students through video calls. If your internet speed is not good, then the quality of the video will be poor. Also, make sure that the sound quality is exceptional by using a high-quality microphone.
